Interested in submitting your work?

Media Lab Books welcomes unsolicited book proposal submissions. We publish a broad range of nonfiction titles across popular categories including general reference, self-help, puzzles and games, pop culture, cooking, children’s books, tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs), and more.

Before submitting your proposal, we strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with the kinds of books we publish to ensure your project aligns with our editorial focus.

Your proposal should include the following:

• • A query letter introducing yourself and your project
  • A clear and compelling description of the book, including its intended market
  • An explanation of why readers will want to purchase the book
  • A discussion of how your book differs from existing titles on the subject
  • A brief personal biography, including your qualifications, experience with the subject matter, and details about your platform (if applicable)
  • A proposed table of contents
  • Three sample chapters

You do NOT need a literary agent to submit a proposal to us.

Submission format

Please send your materials via the form only. We do not accept printed or physical submissions.

Response time: We strive to respond to all proposals within four weeks. If you do not hear from us within that time frame, you may assume we’ve decided not to pursue the project. Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we’re unable to respond to individual status inquiries.
